Buford High School Athletics

Dennis Stromie brings more than 40 years of teaching and coaching experience in Georgia to the Buford wrestling program. A former state champion and National Wrestling Hall of Fame inductee, Stromie has built a respected career as a head coach, assistant coach and athletic administrator.

Wrestling Career

• 1976 state champion at Columbia High School

• Wrestled at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga from 1977-1978

Coaching and Administrative Career

• Redan High School: Assistant coach, 1983-1985

• Parkview High School: Head coach, 1985-2007

• West Forsyth High School: Head coach and athletic director, 2007-2011

• Wesleyan School: Head coach, 2011-2019

• Wesleyan School: Assistant coach and assistant athletic director, 2019-2026

• Buford High School: Assistant wrestling coach

Honors and Recognition

• Inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2009
