WINDER, Ga. — Buford placed each of its four teams among the top 12 at the Apple Hawkins Invitational on Sept. 19, highlighted by sixth place for the varsity girls and fifth place for the junior varsity girls at Apalachee High School.

Alexis Tudor led the varsity girls across the 5,000-meter course, placing 24th in 22:06.76. Jaelyn Ozkan followed in 25th at 22:18.38, giving the Wolves consecutive finishers at the front of their lineup.

Maye Nordholz recorded a time of 23:00.56, while Katie Dominguez crossed in 23:47.60 and Kiley Boyer completed Buford's scoring five in 24:11.94. Daniela Contreras, Lauryn D'Agostino and Kaitlyn Harper also represented the Wolves, who finished sixth with 165 points and a team average of 23:05.

Matthew Jennings paced the varsity boys with a 28th-place finish in 17:53.05. William Mayorga clocked 18:32.90, followed by Mateo Cabezas in 18:53.95. Nathan Yun and Aldo Robles rounded out the scoring group as Buford placed 12th with 308 points and a 19:15 average.

The junior varsity girls finished fifth with 150 points, placing all five scorers within six positions of one another. Angely Olayo led the group in 27:21.95, with Geneveive Rem, Victoria Langlois, Allyson Lee and Genesis Licona completing the lineup.

Buford's junior varsity boys placed 10th with 284 points. Sihu Park set the pace for the Wolves in 22:45.66, while Cameron Gracek, Jacob Meyer, Joshua Cooney and Ali Ghanim completed the scoring five.
