Brooklyn Atha hit two home runs, and Buford turned a five-run opening inning into a 20-5 victory over Collins Hill with 15 more runs in the second Thursday, Sept. 17. The Wolves finished with 16 hits and four homers in the three-inning win.

Atha went 3-for-3 with three runs scored and four RBIs, leading an offense that produced throughout the lineup. LG Goldin and Lydia Hamrick also homered, while Olivia Nagel joined Hamrick with two hits and three RBIs apiece.

Atha put Buford on the board with a solo shot to left in the first. A bases-loaded walk, an RBI single from Hamrick and a two-run single from Nagel helped the Wolves build a 5-0 lead before the inning ended.

Buford followed with its biggest inning of the night. Atha homered again, this time to center, and LG Goldin and Hamrick added two-run shots to left and right, respectively. The Wolves kept finding ways to bring runners home beyond the long ball, getting run-scoring singles from Nagel, Janie Goldin, Atha and Taylor Jackson. Kami Vendola contributed a two-run triple, and Ella Rackley added an RBI single as Buford pushed its total to 20.

Ansley Kehren and Ella Pierce Hensley each went 2-for-2. Kehren scored twice and stole three of Buford's six bases, while Hensley crossed the plate three times. LG Goldin also scored three runs and finished with three RBIs. The Wolves drew five walks to complement their 16-hit performance.

Norah Cook earned the win, allowing three hits and five runs, two earned, over 1? innings. She struck out one and walked two. Kennedy Townsend followed with 1? scoreless innings, giving up two hits with one strikeout and no walks. Eliana Pavlopoulos supplied three of Collins Hill's runs with a second-inning home run.

Buford returns home Monday, Sept. 21, to host Cambridge.
