BUFORD, Ga. — Buford scored nine runs in the opening inning and hit three home runs in a 13-1 victory over Jackson County on Monday at the Buford Softball Complex.

Brooklyn Atha opened the scoring with a two-run home run to left field. Ella Pierce Hensley added a three-run shot to left, and Taylor Sawyer followed with a solo homer to center.

Ella Rackley delivered an RBI double, Janie Goldin drove in a run with a single and LG Goldin drew a bases-loaded walk as the Wolves built a 9-0 advantage in the first inning.

Buford added four runs in the second. Atha brought home a run with a walk, Ansley Kehren drove in two with a double and Goldin added another RBI single.

Taylor Jackson earned the complete-game win in the circle. She allowed one run on four hits across four innings while striking out four and issuing no walks.

The Wolves finished with 11 hits and eight walks. Hensley led the offense with three RBIs, while Atha and Kehren each drove in two. Goldin and Emma Asmer recorded two hits apiece.

Goldin scored three runs, while Atha, Asmer and Rackley each scored twice. Buford also stole four bases and played error-free defense.

Buford returns to action Tuesday at home against Collins Hill.
