HOSCHTON, Ga. — Buford delivered its second consecutive shutout and found the end zone four times after halftime to defeat Mill Creek 40–0 on Friday, extending its winning streak to 18 games. The Wolves improved to 8–0 overall and 4–0 in Region 8-AAAAAAA.
D.J. Hunter completed 22 of 29 passes for 267 yards and three touchdowns, distributing the ball to a receiving group that finished with 10 players making catches. Jameer Cantrell supplied two rushing touchdowns, pairing an early short-yardage score with a 61-yard run on Buford's first offensive snap after halftime.
The Wolves established a 14–0 lead in the opening quarter, but their defense ensured that advantage held through a scoreless second. A fourth-down sack near the goal line ended one scoring threat. When a Buford fumble put the defense back on the field with a short field to protect, the Wolves responded with another fourth-down stop.
Those stands preserved the shutout and sent Buford into halftime ahead by two touchdowns. Cantrell changed that margin almost immediately after the break, breaking through for his 61-yard score to make it 20–0.
Hunter helped turn the second-half separation into a decisive finish. His 17-yard touchdown pass to Tank Watson capped an 11-play possession late in the third quarter, and he connected with R.J. Walker for a 15-yard score in the fourth. Brayden Thompson added a 69-yard touchdown pass to D.J. Ford to complete Buford's scoring.
The passing production followed an efficient start. After the defense recovered a fumble on the game's first offensive snap, Cantrell finished the ensuing possession with a 1-yard touchdown run. Hunter then found Braylon Williams for a 34-yard touchdown with 4:45 left in the opening quarter.
Seven Rashad finished with four receptions for 66 yards, while Ashton Thomas caught five passes for 39 yards. Williams, Watson, Walker and Ford each contributed a touchdown reception as Buford scored 26 unanswered points after halftime.
The Wolves earned their third shutout of the season and have allowed just seven points across four region games. Friday's result also marked their third consecutive victory over Mill Creek, which fell to 3–5 overall and 3–1 in region play.
Buford returns home to face Discovery on Friday, Oct. 30, with two regular-season games remaining.
