BUFORD, Ga. — Buford has seen Seckinger three times this season. The fourth meeting comes with a trip to Columbus at stake.
The Wolves host the Jaguars on Wednesday, Oct. 21, at the Buford Softball Complex in the Class 7A Sweet 16. The series opens with games scheduled for 4 and 6 p.m.
Buford won all three regular-season matchups, taking those games 17-4, 14-2 and 11-0. Now the Wolves must carry that success into a postseason series against a Seckinger team that earned its place by beating Hillgrove in three games.
At 24-3, Buford enters the matchup following two shutout wins over Rockdale County. The Wolves scored 33 runs in the opening round, and LG Goldin homered in both games to bring her season total to nine. Taylor Jackson allowed one hit and struck out six in the opener.
Seckinger clinched its first-round series with an 11-6 victory in the deciding game. For Buford, the assignment is clear: beat the Jaguars once more in a series, and the season continues in Columbus.
