COMMERCE, Ga. — Austin Johnson won the junior varsity boys race, and Matthew Pham and Jasmine Jones each earned top-three individual finishes as Buford put all four teams in the top five at the Eagles Fall Invitational on Oct. 17 at East Jackson High School.

The varsity boys placed third with 87 points, led by Pham's runner-up finish in 16:43.38. Max Steele followed in fifth at 17:02.10, giving the Wolves two of the first five finishers. Matthew Jennings took 25th in 17:42.02, while Sam Foster finished 30th in 17:57.62 and Ethan Bailey placed 33rd in 18:05.22 to complete Buford's scoring five.

Jones led the varsity girls to fifth place with 120 points, finishing third individually in 18:58.90. Olivia Park placed 16th in 21:24.37, and Jaelyn Ozkan finished 24th in 21:59.42. Maria Riano Lopez crossed in 43rd at 23:08.67, followed by Emma Webb in 48th at 23:21.61.

In the JV boys race, Johnson's winning time of 18:43.70 set the pace for a Buford lineup that placed all five scoring runners inside the top 20. Behind him, four Wolves finished within 2.2 seconds of one another. Nathan Foster took 12th in 19:42.70, Nathan Yun was 13th in 19:43.50, Landon Thompson placed 14th in 19:43.70 and Aldo Robles finished 17th in 19:44.90. Buford earned second with 57 points.

The JV girls placed fourth with 114 points. Genevieve Rem led the Wolves in 20th at 26:32.03, with Kaitlyn Harper finishing 23rd in 26:47.37. Genesis Licona took 27th in 27:02.79, Macie Hansen placed 34th in 27:30.06 and Allyson Lee finished 39th in 27:47.75.
