BUFORD, Ga. — Buford volleyball's 2026 season came to a close Saturday with a four set loss at Northgate in the first round of the GHSA Class 7A State Tournament, wrapping up a fall filled with memorable wins.

The Wolves were especially strong at home, winning 11 of their 13 matches. An unbeaten run at the Buford Volleyball Playdate highlighted August, with victories over McDonough, Westlake, East Forsyth and Morgan County. Buford also picked up early wins against North Cobb, Greater Atlanta Christian, Kell, North Oconee, Union Grove, Wesleyan and Parkview.

In September, the Wolves traveled to Tennessee and won four matches at the Rocky Top Classic. Back in Georgia, Buford earned wins over Central Gwinnett, Mill Creek, Collins Hill, Discovery and Dacula.

The Gwinnett County Tournament brought more bright spots. Buford defeated Collins Hill and Meadowcreek to advance to the Gold Bracket, where the Wolves added their second win of the season over Parkview.

The final stretch included tough matches against Seckinger, Mill Creek in the region tournament and Northgate in the state playoffs. While the Wolves hoped to play longer, their season offered plenty to be proud of, including successful tournament trips, a strong home record and another opportunity to represent Buford on the state stage.
